The New York Jets have a quarterback.
The team signed veteran free agent Josh McCown to a one-year contract on Monday evening, McCown’s agent Mike McCartney confirmed on Twitter.
McCown will sign a one-year contract worth $6 million, all of which is guaranteed, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
McCown spent the weekend with the organization, during which time both sides reportedly worked out the terms of a contract for the 37 year old signal caller.
In seven games last season for Cleveland, McCown compiled 1,100 yards through the air, scoring six times, and throwing six interceptions before succumbing to a shoulder injury.
McCown should be considered the Jets’ presumed starting quarterback going into camp.
